Challenging All Schools To End Homelessness

Did you know that there are students that are homeless in your school? Let's do something about it! Help us place Hygiene Kits in all of the schools!

Why Hygiene Kits in Schools?

The California Department of Education recently reported for the 2017/2018 year that there are over 270,000 homeless students, but the state audit reported that there were actually over 370,000 homeless students. In the Yuba/Sutter area there are 1,000 plus homeless students in our schools. Together we can make a difference.

What are in the Hygiene Kits?

These kits have all of the essentials like shampoo, conditioner, brush, Bombas socks, toothbrush/toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products. Our goal is to have these kits in all of the schools in our area.

Ambassador Program

We also run an Ambassador program where students can join to be a part of helping their fellow students. Their responsibilities would be to report additional hygiene kits needed at their school, be a part of any bagging or special events, attend monthly meetings, learning about nonprofit work, etc.

Many schools have identified their leadership students for this role and at the end of each school year student ambassadors will receive a Letter of Recommendation from Trukidz for their volunteer role as an Ambassador for Trukidz.

Which Schools are Eligible?

All schools are eligible, subject to supplies being available. The Hygiene Kit Program is currently in 8 school districts and looking to expand. How does the Hygiene Kit Program Work?

If you are interested in the Hygiene Kit Program, contact
us via email at [email protected]. We will contact you and depending on your location:

We will drop off 25 hygiene kits to the school.
Once a month, a Trukidz representative or ambassador will contact the designated contact for the school to check on hygiene kit levels
If the hygiene kits need to be restocked Trukidz will restock them
If the hygiene kits run out sooner than expected contact [email protected] the Trukidz ambassador representing your school.
We work with student leadership teams and the teacher recommends the student Trukidz ambassador. The Trukidz program is youth oriented, so it is possible that your designated Trukidz ambassador may be a student.
